VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - APRIL 10 (Saturday) and APRIL 11 (Sunday)
MS Atlanta is sponsoring a two day bike ride from Atlanta to Athens (April 10) returning to Atlanta (April 11).

Here is the MS Georgia event site: http://www.nationalmssociety.org/chapters/GAA/fundraising-events/bike-ms/index.aspx

The contact for the MS Georgia Chapter event is Amanda Karnik Moran at 678-501-6623 or amanda.moran@nmssga.org .

Each day there will be a lunch stop halfway between Atlanta and Athens. There will be two groups of marshals, Atlanta group and Athens group. On Saturday the Atlanta group of marshal will ride to the lunch point then are finished for the day. The Athens group will take over from the lunch point and escort the bicyclist to Athens. Sunday is the same only in reverse. This is set up so that volunteers won’t incur Saturday night motel expenses. Of course if you want to go from Atlanta to Athens that’s OK also.

Motorcycle marshal contacts:
1. Tom VanHart (Athens group) at 678-343-3137
Tom will be handling marshals for Saturday lunch stop to Athens and early Sunday morning ride from Athens to lunch stop. This group picks up the riders later in morning on Saturday at lunch point and escorts riders to Athens.

2. Tyrone Reed (aka T. D.) (Atlanta group) at 404-680-3520
TD will be handling marshals Saturday morning from GA State in Atlanta to lunch stop and then Sunday from lunch stop back to GA State. This group is early Saturday morning with a later start on Sunday.

Last August several BMWOGA members volunteered for the MS Cox Atlanta Bike Ride at Callaway Gardens. We had a great time as motorcycle safety marshals to make sure the bike riders were safe along the route.

ADDED BONUS:
Disney has a great program called “Give One Get One.” Essentially it breaks down as volunteer a day with a charity registered with Disney, get it documented and receive a one day admission to Disney.

You now have the opportunity qualify to “get a Disney day.”
